I dyed my red hair brown 3 yrs ago, wana go back to red, tryed dying over it but didnt work?

i have just been putting semi's on it for about a year, i am not prepared to grow it out beacuse of the colour difference, dying over it doesnt work, a hair dresser says put high lights in it but thats just more colour to grow out and the colour corection stuff wont shift it either i regret dying it now an want my red hair back

try stripping it wth baking soda just make it a paste and then appply it to the hair and check it every so often.

Color doesn't lift color. You have to remove the existing color being careful not to touch the regrowth first. Then you can apply your desired color on your hair. If you want a color that's still different from your natural then apply the color to your regrowth as well. As long as you're not trying to go with a lighter color than your own it should take.

as cass says use baking soda. ok. live with the results for a time and then try to go to a hairdressers.

If you don't want to grow your hair out, which would be the kindest for your hair, the only other option would to have it dyed professionally at your hairdressers.......You can only lighten dark hair with chemicals... Don't know of any other way sorry......

hey, I'm not a hair dresser but i no how you feel! i dyed my hair from blonde to black 3 years ago and now i want to go bak blonde i cant!:( , you could ask your hairdresser to strip your hair but it really damages your hair, one hair dresser told me that head and shoulders shampoos are best for stripping the colour from your hair... when i was tranie in a salon one of the stylist used magma on my hair, but that was only a few streaks the only hair dye that would colour over the black! so maybe you could ask about that! once again i am NOT a hairdresser!lol good luck! xx

Go to a different stylist. A good stylist should help match your natural colour to a dye 閳?that is their job.
