True...Blond hair is more ' common ' thus seen more (dominates). Red hair is less common...more rare. Myself and two of my three children have in between hair color. Kind of copper penny red...auburn brown. Not quite red...not brown. My eldest has blond with copper penny red hues to it. Unique hair color.
