I just can't believe what happened to me this weekend. I am a novice when it comes to hair colour. I asked my stylist, who had previously dyed my hair mud brown, to lift the dull brown and put in warm brown (not red). He did an all-over light highlight and then put red all over my hair. I look FREAKY and my hair is completely red. I have been washing it like crazy to try to dull the red at least a little bit so that I can go to work. I'm a level six. I think the stylist realized his mistake as he toned over it afterwards with something that made it a little bit more coppery. I really want my brown hair back, although I appreciate that to go brown again I will need to go darker. This is unfortunate as I wanted to go lighter for the summer. Anyhow. If you could tell me what to do I would really appreciate it. My understanding is that he put a semi-permanent on my hair so I imagine that if I wait and wash and wash it will eventually fade, and then I could dye over it...but it is HORRIB
How do I turn a horrible red hair colour into a cool brown one?
start by washing it with shampoo that has moisturizers.1. panten pro v (not for colored hair.) that sucks the color out of anything. 2 . you can do bleach %26amp; water mixed together%26amp; wash in hair for like 2 to 5 min. hair color bleach not clothes bleach.
then if you want to color it back your self . you need a level 5 or 6 natural ash. blue based color. one that has some lift. not a semi.

1. you dye easter eggs and color hair
2. if he realized his mistake then why did he continue to make it more red? Is he your regular stylist? Why did he not try to make it the correct color when he realized his mistake? And why the heck did you not say anything to him?
When it comes to my hair I will say something.
Call your stylist and ask him about how long the semi-perm color will last and was it his intention to go that color and would he be willing to correct a mistake if you come back and pay for the products used. A good stylist will make sure that you are satisfied before you leave the salon and if not then they are in the wrong profession.

Semi-Permanant usually lasts 4-6 weeks and that is what they are meant to last. You could probably get the color to fade by washing it, but he should be fixing it for free, call him up and tell him you want him to fix your hair free of charge since this is what happened. If he doesn't know how to fix it he needs to consult with other stylists to see what their opinions are and get help, sometimes things just don't go the way that they are supposed to when it comes to chemically treating hair in any way and that is just how it is. He needs to fix it though, and you need to make him so that he can learn from this experience, that is the only way to become a good stylist is to fix your mishaps and make them right yourself. Otherwise do you think that he is going to know what to do next time this happens to someone else?
